most personal airline. We
are delighted to have you
with us and look forward
to being of service to you
in any way we can.
The holidays are here!
As gorgeous summer
weather uplifts South Africa, people head off to their favourite
places to enjoy a little down time with family and friends. The
smell of braai fires and boerewors and the sound of laughter is
everywhere as we reflect on 2014 and anticipate the excitement
and challenges of a new year ahead.
CemAir has had a particularly exciting and very busy
2014 having expanded our fleet, our route network and our
service offering. Through a partnership with Travelport we
are now able to offer ticket sales worldwide via the travel agent
network, and through MAC Publishing & Consulting we bring
you this, the third issue, of our very own inflight magazine of
which we are very proud.
The Cemair fleet has grown! We are extremely proud to be
introducing a Bombardier Dash 8 this December festive sea-
son. The aircraft has been acquired to accommodate increased
demand on our Margate and Plettenberg Bay routes. This 37
seat aircraft gives passengers the benefit of a full service cabin
including a cabin attendant, galley and a lavatory whilst still
offering an arrival at a more conveniently located airport.
On the 1st of November we celebrated the anniversary of
the launch of our Margate flights. In a wet but well attended
celebration at Margate Airport we thanked the community
for their support and enthusiasm. It’s been a privilege to make
a difference to the people in this most beautiful part of the
Plettenberg Bay Airport is steadily being upgraded by the
Bitou Municipality and now boasts the availability of Jet A1
and soon, Avgas aviation fuel supplied by Air BP. Again, it is a
privilege to be part of the economic development.
Our aircraft leasing operation has also continued to grow
and taken us to some new and interesting places. We now
have additional aircraft in Nigeria and South Sudan and have
started in Zambia and Mali. Our time in Senegal has drawn
to a close but we have exciting prospects in Angola, Libya and
I take this opportunity to thank you, our customers for
your support during the year. We hope you have enjoyed flying
with us as much as we have enjoyed being of service to you.
A special thanks to our suppliers without whom we would be
unable to do what we do, and of course to the CemAir team
who have worked tirelessly throughout the year to provide a
world class service allowing us to grow in trying economic
times. I wish you all a safe and peaceful festive season and a
spectacular 2015. May it be a year to remember.
From the CemAir Team, thank you again for flying with
us and bon voyage!
